EDUCATIONAL ADVOCACY

Advocated for Universal Full-Day Kindergarten, which was implemented in Fall 2018, ahead of strategic goal.

Advocated for the creation of and served as chair of the Special Education Ad- Hoc, where the committee helped to create and revise policies related to Special Education and made a comprehensive list of recommendations of improvements related to communication and consistency of application of services.

EQUITY IN EDUCATION

Served as Chairperson and commissioner of the Loudoun County Commission on Youth which advocates for youth programs, with a special focus on programs for underserved communities and underrepresented groups.

Served on the Loudoun County School’s Equity and Diversity Ad-Hoc Committee, where we worked to address issues of inequity and cultural and racial biases within the school system.
